Taste of New Paltz is a delightful and delicious event unique to the Hudson Valley. It features local restaurants showcasing their specialties, selling taste-sized portions of their best dishes. Area wineries will be offering tastings and local farms will be presenting the best of this year's crops. If you've been dreaming of owning real estate in New Paltz, here's your chance to sample everything the local cuisine has to offer in one fell swoop! Taste of New Paltz offers a great experience for residents & visitors, as well as a platform for regional artisans to gain some great exposure!

Food Is The Main Event

2011 marks the 21st birthday of Taste of New Paltz, which is presented by the New Paltz Chamber of Commerce. Local restaurants and food vendors from throughout Ulster County  will be selling "tastes" of of their scrumptious creations. These tastes generally cost between $2 - 4, making affordability the ultimate justification for indulging in multiple dishes. Not familiar with regional cuisine? Browse the "Dining" section of our Ulster County Directory for restaurants in New Paltz and beyond! All proceeds will benefit the the Chamber and its various community projects.

Over the years the festival's popularity has grown, much like the area it resides in. Just 90 miles north of Manhattan, New Paltz and neighboring Gardiner, NY are very popular for buyers looking for a country lifestyle without losing proximity to the Big Apple. Taste of New Paltz also features live music, crafts from regional artisans, and free demonstrations from local businesses and organizations. Area wineries offer delicious wines made from the finest Hudson Valley grapes. Local farms, who are in need of our support in the wake of Hurricane Irene, will also be in attendance selling the finest in fresh organic produce.

A Community Event, Powered By Volunteers

Taste of New Paltz is also, in essence, a business expo. 2010's "Taste" drew an estimated 10,000 visitors and organizers are planning for even more this year. This gives local businesses unparalleled exposure and a great opportunity to get their name out there. The festival setting offers business owners a unique chance to interact with literally thousands of curious customers.

The New Paltz Chamber estimates that roughly 70% of the event's workforce is comprised of volunteers. This much-needed manpower comes from a variety of sources including students from New Paltz High School, members of SUNY New Paltz fraternities and sororities, and ordinary citizens pitching in. Taste of New Paltz is a true community event that is fun for the whole family and benefits everyone that lives, works and loves Ulster County! As always, our website keeps you updated on all of the fun activities taking place in Ulster County!
