Famous Drummer for The Band, Who Fell In Love With Woodstock NY

music_noteLevon Helm's impact on the Ulster County NY area will live on, both through the Grammy award winning albums he recorded at his Woodstock NY barn, and through the endless work he has done to benefit our community and advocate for our area. After a legendary music career: first backing up Bob Dylan, later creating his own rock classics with the group The Band, Levon Helm settled in Woodstock NY. He converted a large barn on his property into a recording studio and never stopped playing and recording. In 2004 he created the "Midnight Rambles" a series of live concerts, held right on his Woodstock property, which grew into a tour, albums, and eventually earned a few Grammies. He continued to play music and perform right up until the very end of his life.
