Although Route 209 in other parts of the County is rightly considered a major thoroughfare, in Stone Ridge it fairly squeezes through the center of the hamlet, transforming itself into a charming Main Street. This convenient downtown is flanked by all the small-town amenities: the local banks, the Stone Ridge Library, a handy and well-supplied food market, Emmanuels, the post office, various eateries, as well as the community center, Marbletown Town Hall, and Davenport’s Farm Stand.
This “downtown” real estate in Stone Ridge includes so many of the classic, original stone buildings and elegant, wood-sided architecture that it’s easy to imagine you’re back in a simpler and more gracious time.
