Ahoy there! When you hear the word "regatta" it may conjure up images of million dollar sail boats and funny boat shoes. The New Paltz Regatta, though certainly a regatta by definition, may not be the haughty affair you'd expect. It features wacky boats, live music, a town parade, and free ice cream! We'd prefer that to the typical Regatta any day, and the 2012 New Paltz Regatta this weekend did not disappoint! The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day as contestants braved the mighty Wallkill River on hand-made boats, colorful rafts, and even a floating house or two!
