The Love Affair Continues – The New York Times & Ulster County Real Estate

Posted by Dylan Taft on Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at 9:53am.

There are few greater endorsements for a community than to be featured in the New York Times. A new article published this past weekend once again shined the spotlight on Hudson Valley real estate. Repeating a theme from a 2010 article, the piece highlights the Hudson Valley’s (in particular Rosendale) appeal to Brooklyn residents, which in turn instantly bolsters our area’s street cred (i.e. “cool factor”).

Brooklyn Stand Up

As usual Taft Street Realty has its finger on the pulse of current social trends. Citing the 2010  article, we mused in a blog if Rosendale was the “New Brooklyn”. This time around, we published our "Big Ups To Brooklyn" blog literally the day before the most recent NYTimes article.  We strive to produce high quality content on par with the Times and other notable sources, and sometimes we even beat them to the punch! You can count on us to monitor social trends and always find the local angle.

May We Also Suggest

As for this weekend’s NYTimes article, we too are big fans of Market Market in Rosendale and recommend the rice and beans platter. As for real estate, may we also suggest the oft forgotten pocket of Cottekill, a quiet hamlet conveniently located between High Falls and Rosendale. Not really looking for “next Brooklyn”? The hamlet of Stone Ridge tends to be more traditional, with well kept homes in quiet neighborhoods. Whereas Rosendale, with its trendy boutiques and eateries, represents the more liberal and hip side of Ulster County, one might characterize Stone Ridge as its conservative counterpart. The picturesque Main Street Stone Ridge is quaint and charming yet still has virtually every modern convenience you may desire.  As realtors, we’re always thrilled when our area gets such acclaimed recognition. As for Ulster County and the New York Times, the love affair continues, so keep checking back on the best real estate blog in Ulster County, NY and we’ll keep bringing you the latest news and trends!
